My name is Rob Gion, Jr., and I am happy to be married to the love of my life, Tammy Gion. Tammy and I have been married for 28 years and have two wonderful children, Aaron and Emma. In December 2023, we were proud to welcome our new son-in-law, Hank Bergmann, into our family. My family is pictured above.

Tammy and I live in St. Louis, Missouri, where we have spent most of our lives. We are fortunate to enjoy spending quality time together, and we try to do that as much as possible. That said, we always seem to be so busy! How does that happen? When we get to spend time together, Tammy and I enjoy craft beer (we’ve become beer snobs) and, when the weather is nice, going for a ride on my motorcycle.

We are passionate about each other and passionate about our relationship with the Lord. Our faith is central to everything we do. We are active in our local church and actively seek to serve in various ministries where we can help and give back to others.

Several years ago now, I read an influential book that challenged me to consider my “why.” Why am I here? Why do I do the things I do? What led me to write this book? As I’ve examined myself, the answer is that I believe I exist to help people. It’s why I believe God created me and blessed me with the various gifts that He did.

I primarily help people through coaching, teaching, and leading. Because I am a Christian and because I know the Lord gifted me with the ability to preach and teach, I serve in a variety of ministry capacities. Redefining Intimacy is an expression of my heart to help hurting people who are trapped in addictions, are relationally hindered because of past trauma or hurt, or simply could get a lot more out of their relationships by better understanding what intimacy is. Many of us are misguided in our understanding of the word.

In addition to my writing, I lead a nonprofit ministry called What Is Intimacy? I also own and operate an insurance practice with a team of qualified professionals providing business and personal insurance nationwide.
